Museum Beelden Aan Zee
The Museum Beelden aan Zee, which houses some 600 sculptures, is among the most boldly designed in all of Holland. Opened in 1994 and designed by the architect Wim Quist, the museum is given its unique character by the way it is integrated with a 19th century beach pavillion -- it has an interplay of open spaces, and wide views of the sea. This book, generously illustrated with floor plans and photos, has six essays about the museum from a wide range of contributors -- from a Dutch poet, architects, an historian, an engineer, and the collector who commissioned the museum.
