Este libro tiene el propósito de contribuir a la transformación del desempeño económico y ambiental de la pyme mediante un modelo de gestión sistémico desarrollo a partir de la experiencia de dos programas con fines económicos y ambientales: el primero, adelantado en México, el Programa de Liderazgo Ambiental para la Competividad (PLAC) y el segundo en Colombia, La Red de empresas sostenibles RedesCAR. Ambos programas fueron desarrollados por profesores dela Facultad de Administración, de al Universidad de los Andes, en alianza con entidades públicas, instituciones académicas y organizaciones dedicdas al desarrollo empresarial. Este modelo propicia la transformación de personas y empresas por medio cambios en el sistema industrial, representado por sus cadenas de proveedores y , en última instancia, por la sociedad la cual se beneficia con la multipliación de los impactos.

Este libro busca contribuir a la difusión y la investigación de la Producción más Limpia (PML), como estrategia de gestión ambiental proactiva en empresas latinoamericanas. Mediante el desarrollo de sus diferentes capítulos se introducen los conceptos, estrategias, herramientas y casos que orientan la implementación de innovaciones preventivas en empresas. Desde la década de 1990, la Producción más Limpia ha sido promovida a nivel mundial, como una visión novedosa para involucrar la actividad empresarial a los programas y proyectos relacionados con la conservación y protección ambiental. Por medio de su enfoque preventivo, distinto a los esquemas tradicionales de comando y control, la Producción más Limpia busca implementar proyectos que generen beneficios económicos, tangibles para las empresas y que a la vez lleven a beneficios ambientales. Este modelo "gana-gana" parte del concepto de que la contaminación ambiental generada por las actividades empresariales es el resultado de ineficiencias en sus procesos productivos. En la medida en que la empresa logre optimizar la eficiencia de sus procesos y productos, automáticamente reduce sus niveles de afectación al medio ambiente.

Oplossingsgericht werken met ondersteunde communicatie vraagt heel wat training van de hulpverlener. Je moet je allereerst de oplossingsgerichte mindset eigen maken. Op een methodische en gestructureerde manier ga je daarbij met de cliënt in gesprek, zodat de cliënt zijn ‘eigen kracht’ versterkt. Daarnaast moet je op zoek naar nieuwe communicatiemiddelen die dit gesprek eenvoudiger kunnen doen verlopen. Deze ‘ondersteunde communicatie’ komt goed van pas bij mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. Maar ook ruimer wordt deze manier van communiceren steeds vaker dankbaar gebruikt bij kinderen met of zonder communicatieve beperking of in de psychiatrie. Voor de hulpverlener lijkt het een beetje op het leren communiceren in een andere taal en met een andere mindset. Dit boek helpt daarbij. The definition of power varies across disciplines. Social scientists tend to deal with social power, philosophers of technology with the relation between technology and society, and ecologists with the relation between natural and social power. Concepts of power and technology are freely used but this relationship is complex and multifaceted. In this analytic and ambitious textbook, Jan van Dijk brings these perspectives together to provide a more comprehensive answer. In attempting to integrate social, technical, and natural power into one framework, he develops a general concept of power which unites all three – the first time such an attempt has been made. The author argues that it is important to look at these concepts together: natural power is not simply a resource for technology and society, and its inclusion is crucial given the ecological impact of technologies. Overall, nine forms of power which comprise the framework are discussed in each chapter – force, construction, coercion, domination, discipline, dependency, information, persuasion, and authority – and at all levels (individuals, organizations, and societies). Van Dijk concludes with some practical implications and asks two key questions: how can automatic and autonomous technology such as AI be controlled by humans? And, how can we find a more sustainable and less exploitive technology? Dit katern is geschreven voor BOL- en BBL-studenten die in de laatste fase zijn gekomen van de opleiding tot verpleegkundige. Het katern is een hulpmiddel bij het afstuderen en reikt verschillende mogelijkheden voor binnen en buitenschoolse verdieping aan. In het eerste hoofdstuk wordt de voorbereiding op de differentiatie belicht. In hoofdstuk 2 leert de student een eigen opfrisschema samen te stellen. Daarmee kan hij of zij de eerder eigen gemaakte leerstof die nodig is voor de differentiatie weer op een rijtje zetten en gebruiken als basis voor de verdieping. Tevens bevat dit hoofdstuk een uitgebreide lijst van informatiebronnen. In hoofdstuk 3 zijn casussen opgenomen die dienen als basis om te verdiepen en als leidraad voor het afstudeerproces en product.
