A Naked View of the Trans-Pacific Partnership
The 'A Naked View of the Trans-Pacific Partnership' was written by Timothy Barnes, President of Asia Pacific Consulting, as a way to provide an unbiased, fact based, easy to read commentary on the largest trade deal the US has ever signed. The word 'naked' is used, as a method to remove the costumes, make-up and other accessories that are typically utilized by politicians, stakeholders and interested parties to dress up an argument to sell their personal views. Instead, this book looks at the naked facts, the history of free trade, how specific industries and companies will be impacted, and includes commentary from representatives covering all view points, to allow the reader to objectively review the subject matter and make their own conclusion. Timothy Barnes has lived most of his life in the Asia Pacific region, developing his passion for the world in both his professional capacity and personal life. It was this personal interest that peaked after his move to the United States, with the decision to create an organization that could help global companies in their Asia Pacific pursuits, forming Asia Pacific Consulting (APC). APC has grown significantly and now helps organizations primarily in the U.S. across a large number of industries. It was through client discussions that Timothy identified a need with the Trans-Pacific Partnership - where very little factual information was available, and ultimately decided to write a book to help the general public understand the facts and the complex nature of the agreement.
