Out of Anonymity is a literary journal of essays, poetry, short stories, and excerpts from unpublished novels written by a group of teachers and retired teachers who are members of the UCLA Writing Project.

Amara in the Mirror is about a little girl who discovers her reflection for the first time. Amara's not sure who the little girl in the mirror is, but notices that the girl in the mirror can do all the things that she can do. In this sweet and comical story, Amara makes funny facial expressions and does a series of movements as she has fun with the girl she sees in the mirror. Only later after talking with her mom does she learn that the girl in the mirror was her the whole time!
