Poetry. Middle Eastern Studies. Winner of the 2016 Michael Waters Poetry Prize. In Lebanon during the civil war, a teenage boy and his family witness leveled cities, displaced civilians, the aftermath of massacres. Resources are scarce and uncertainty is everywhere. What does it mean to survive? To leave behind a home torn apart by war? To carry the burden of what you've seen across an ocean? These poems follow a man in search of security as he leaves his country for America, falls in love, and becomes a single father to three daughters. Through the perspective of one man, his family, and even his country, SET TO MUSIC A WILDFIRE explores the violence of living, the guilt of surviving, the loneliness of faith, and the impossible task of belonging.

This publication is an anthology of fictional stories, memoirs, essays, and poetry accumulated over the past six years and written by Lend A Hand Senior Writers in Tucson, Arizona. Over the years, our senior writing group has fluctuated in size from as few three to as many as eight. We don't have any rules about what we write or how we write; we write to express ourselves and to have a good time. Please enjoy our most recent contributions to modern-day literature.

Poetry isn't just the dusty classical poems we all studied in school. It's sexy, raw, political, edgy, and alive. The first of its kind, EMBODIED marries the unique aspects of poetry with those of sequential art in this contemporary graphic poetry. EMBODIED features new work on the theme of gender, identity, and the body from twenty-one of America's premier, award-winning cis female, trans, non-binary poets and adapts them into sequential art stories drawn, colored, and lettered by top cis female, trans, and non-binary artists. With strong BIPOC and LGBTQ+ representation, this anthology emphasizes inclusivity and the amplification of marginalized identities at a time when those identities are most under siege. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit International Women's Health Coalition.

Materials include diaries, 1936, 1943, 1948-49, 1951, 1953, 1961, 1967, 1969-1970, 1972 and 1977, poetry, short stories, novels, correspondence, black-and-white and color photographs. Also included are drafts and outline of Red Weather by Ruth Van Horn Zuckerman; drafts of Susan Granberry by Ruth G. Van Horn; drafts of Changing Waters by Ruth Van Horn Zuckerman; as well as published copies of Crooked Eclipses (as Ruth G. Van Horn, 1942) and From the Ravine (as Ruth Van Horn Zuckerman, 1984).
