Pinochet Boy is a generational novel written in Spanish, about children molded by dictatorship, who could never enjoy the nickel-plated Chile of the new century. The protagonist of this book unfolds into three characters that represent the milestones of his life: Mirko, the suspicious boy, educated in a private school that was previously public and after leaving -in debt- from university, deals with decaying jobs; Pedro, the writer, who conceives literature as a sharp weapon to break through and escape from reality; and Leonidas, a stripped-down version of both, who waits with psychotic patience to regain his failed relationship with Sol.

I believe that this book will definitely make the difference for those who read it and will have an impact, not only on the educational aspect, but also on the personal level as a representation of the Brazilian culture and our beliefs. As far as I am concerned, this is already a remarkable of achievement and I sincerely hope more people will be moved by this story as much as I did!

The private enforcement of competition law through damages actions and/or injunctions before ordinary courts of justice is currently the preferred system in the United States. It is playing an increasingly important role in Europe by supplementing a still predominantly public system based on disciplinary rules enforced by public authorities that do not entail compensation for victims. Compensation can only be achieved through private enforcement, which is already viewed as an alternative to the public system. This work, whose origins lie in the International Conference on the private enforcement of Competition Law held at the University of Valladolid's School of Law offers a comprehensive, pluralist overview of the subject by providing transversal approaches, joint assessment and information on various national experiences alongside more specific contributions that study specific matters of substantive and procedural law, by covering practically all the relevant issues in this field.
