Little Byron
The flagship book of Little Crab Edutainment is "Little Byron", the first in a Mandarin-and-English children's series written by Rebecca Juetten and illustrated by Mikaila Maidment. Byron is a little boy who plays dress-up and goes on imaginative adventures with his three pets - one dog and two cats! The bilingual books offered by Little Crab Edutainment are intended for younger children but can also be read and enjoyed by older children or adults who are at a beginning level in their language studies. Find Little Crab Edutainment on Facebook and Twitter to learn more. As this series continues, friends of Byron will be introduced who reflect the multicultural mosaic of children in North American classrooms. Each book in the series also introduces a new piece of lexis; for example, the target language in "Little Byron" is the numbers 1 to 10. The English, Mandarin, and Pin Yin are shown all on the same page rather unlike most other bilingual books, which often separate the languages onto different pages. (Pin Yin is a system of transcribing Chinese characters so that Mandarin learners can pronounce them: Pin Yin = "to spell sound"). The Mandarin is displayed with Simplified Chinese characters as opposed to complex Traditional characters and was not translated after the English but rather "written alongside" it by the author, who speaks both languages. The audio album "Little Byron - Tutorial and Narrations" is a set of pronunciation tutorials and narration tracks offered to accompany "Little Byron", the storybook. Visit iTunes to select individual tracks, or visit CDBaby.com to purchase the full album at a discounted price!

Vegetables! / 蔬菜 !
Hello Dear Readers, Thank-you for your interest in our first poetry book! Our Vegetables! My First Chinese English Nursery Rhymes Collection! - 蔬菜!我的第一本中英文童谣集 is the first book of a series and has been conceptualised and written with great care in order to make learning about 26 vegetables from A-Z a funny and rewarding experience for teachers and students, parents and kids, or just anyone learning either Mandarin or English. It's also a fun book for foodies! (Some of the poems in this book include information on how to enjoy vegetables, raw or cooked. There are also three kid-friendly recipes at the end of the book.) These poems were written in Mandarin Chinese by Author Zhang Xianjing and the English versions were created in collaboration with Rebecca Juetten. As opposed to writing the poems in Mandarin and then approximating a rough translation into English after-the-fact, they were instead written to match in meaning line by line, and every poem rhymes in Mandarin and in English. Therefore, both native speakers of Mandarin who are learning English and native speakers of English who are learning Mandarin will benefit from this book. 这些诗歌由作者张娴静用中文写成,英文版本是与 Rebecca Juetten 合作创作的。与用普通话完成诗歌后粗略地翻译成英语相反,它们的写作是为了逐行匹配含义,并且每首诗的普通话和英语都押韵。因此,无论是以普通话为母语的人学习英语,还是以英语为母语的人学习普通话,都将从本书中受益。 This book also contains not only Simplified Chinese characters = 简化字 (Jiǎnhuàzì) and English words = 英语单词 (Yīngyǔ dāncí) but also Pinyin = 拼音 (Pīnyīn), which is the official system of transcribing Chinese characters so that Mandarin learners can pronounce them: Pinyin = "to spell sound". 本书不仅包含简体字和英语单词 ,还包含拼音 (Pīnyīn),这是转录汉字的官方系统,以便普通话学习者可以发音拼音="拼写渎音"。 We also opted for photo-representation of the veggies for accuracy, instead of illustrated interpretations, but we still kept a little artistic whimsy. (Who is your favourite?) 为了准确性,我们还选择了蔬菜的照片,而非插图解释,但我们仍然保留了一点艺术的奇思妙想。 (你最喜欢谁呢?) Thank-you and Happy Reading! The LCEP Team 谢谢你的支持。祝您阅读愉快! 小螃蟹出版社团队 PS. Fear Less: Transforming Fear Into Courage Within Relationships, Career, Society, and Self
Fear Less: Transforming Fear Into Courage Within Relationships, Career, Society, and Self
Fear Less: Transforming Fear Into Courage within Relationships, Career, Society, and Self is a reminder that we are not alone in living with fears. Fear is a natural instinct that can be overwhelming, but it is possible to step into fear, confront and learn from it, and carry on. Within these pages, are stories of overcoming the debilitating fears we face from relationships; childhood trauma; insecurities and rejection; growth and success; change; social and cultural norms, expectations, and prejudice; being an entrepreneur--fear of the unknown and unexpressed. Fear, in its truest form, keeps us alive; it ignites the fight or flight tendency. We view fear in today's society as a weakness that causes anxiety and self-doubt--yet all of us experience it, some on a daily basis. It holds us hostage, causing us to miss opportunities or make poor life choices, so how can we regain power and step through fear? Read through raw, emotional, entertaining, and enlightening stories from women who may help guide you through the shadows and change your mindset. As we explore the many facets of fear, and how we get it to step aside without limiting ourselves, we learn to conquer more.
