Addiction and Felons:
This is a book dealing with the rigors of Addiction. It is the goal of the book and author, to offer and show hope in learning how to live with this Life Sentence. It is a sentence, a conviction, and unfortunately if you are an addict then it is a life sentence. I offer no promises in curing an addict, but I offer hope in my own observations and realizations, in what and what not to do. In the end only you can cure your addiction, this book is to provide for you a guide on the journey of overcoming and living with your addiction. This isn't just for the addict, but the loved ones of addicts as well. It may help better understand the workings of an addicts mindset, but it is primarily for the addict to realize they've got to get through it, to get over it!As far as the Felon part of this book, unfortunately the Two are partners in crime, it has been my observation, that where there's one, the other usually isn't far behind. In the United States we choose to house our addicts in prison and label them as Felons. By doing this we have essentially strapped another anchor to the ankle of a struggling addict, and now given very little hope of ever breaking the chain to the anchor. Thus creating a cycle of what can turn into a way of life, like a washing machine cycle with no escape. Here again I don't have the answers for the problem, but I offer hope, and I show a way of how to step outside of the path that keeps leading to bad places. I show the felon how he can take advantage of what's offered to almost every felon, and also show them how to not only get on their feet again, but if they follow the prescribed manner stay on their feet, and become self sufficient with living in society again. This book is the culmination of Two e-books that were published earlier, they were combined into one print format due to some request by some folks that read them. In case you aren't one of those folks, those books, this book, is the result of 13 years an addict. An addict who earned a felon status in life due to his chosen poison, and what this addict did and learned while he was doing. I'm not trying to show you some method taught by counselors who've never been, I'm showing you ways learned through trial and error by a man whose been there and returned. If you know your disease, then you know the chances of survival are slim, likewise you know the chances of returning to incarceration are great. Addiction has reached epidemic proportions in this country as well as places in the world. As a felon you're already a number and you know what I mean, as a felon with an addiction you're a statistic! If you're tired of being somebody else's number then I challenge you to try to live your life in a manner suggested by this book. Enjoy and have a good Read! R.A Jordan
