It takes the view that the family and significant others' reaction and interaction with the injured person are also governed and affected by the behaviour, attitudes and the stress level of the person. They both affect and compound each other forming a cyclical interactive pattern. As a result, psychosocial rehabilitation programmes need to take into consideration sufferers' partner, family and emotional health to be effective. Other interesting features also emerged from the research findings. These included the important role of line supervisors and attitudes of other players in the field affecting the rehabilitation process.
