American Naval History
Lists sources on US naval history, encompassing books, documents, manuscript collections, dissertations, periodical articles and essays, transcripts of oral interviews, films and videos, audio cassettes, and fiction and literature. This edition omits most titles that deal with ancient through early modern sea power, and adds coverage of the period from the Reagan to the Clinton presidency. Entries now include number of pages and contain notes on whether texts include maps, illustrations, and diagrams. The author taught at the US Naval Academy for 37 years and retired with the grade of Captain after 30 years in the Naval Reserves. First published in 1988 by University Press of America, Inc., as A Selected and Annotated Bibliography of American Naval History. The first edition was an updated version of A Bibliography of American Naval History, 1981, published by Naval Institute Press. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
