Memoria compartida
If there is one thing that can be said about this novel by Oscar Collazos, it is that in it language is the central theme, to the point that it is language itself that invents the characters and forges this story of a man and a woman, victims of their own isolation in the world, but also the history of a moment in Colombia. The story is built on the counterpoint of two voices, those of that man and that woman, who little by little, driven perhaps by their frustrations and the ghost of their overwhelming loneliness, unravel their common memories, their "shared memory", now through those memories they reveal the crude and inexorable vision of a social reality whose code is based on physical violence, moral prejudices, and the denial of all human value.
