This community cookbook also includes a short history of the settlement of the Czech pioneers in northwestern Ottawa County, and the surrounding counties of Lincoln, Mitchell, and Cloud. These settlers and their descendants erected a Bohemian Hall and later became affiliated with the Zapadni Ceska Bratrska Jednota (or Western Bohemian Fraternal Association) as Lodge #203. Although the building has been replaced, the community is still active. Each recipe has the contributor's name.
