Bad-Ass Bitches By: Nicole Michele Bad-Ass Bitches is a collection of short stories about ten women who navigate their lives through painful divorces and breakups while struggling to maintain a stable environment for their children. These women are the epitome of strength and goodness - giving their all for the well-being of their families while ignoring their own self-care. Not only do they succeed in overcoming physical abuse, narcissism, and adultery, but they create their own happy endings, all by themselves. These warriors are role models for all women who struggle at the hands of undeserving men. They are bad-ass bitches!

Eight-year-old Gracia faces the harsh reality of gossip and rejection over something she never said. Slinking back in shame and sadness, she accepts the gift of a mysterious green, leather backpack from a wild-eyed peddler. It bears the tag, "Performance & Perfection." She learns to wield the tools inside the pack in a desperate attempt to find worth and value in herself and to protect herself from others. "Control" and "Judgment" are used most often along with "Isolation" and "Escape."Despite the deep pain, loneliness, and feeling weary, she's sure she'll find what she longs for through her next achievement or through approval from others. It never comes though.Through a series of life-changing encounters in the forest, Gracia meets the Tree of Life, the Master Gardener, and the River of Life. Here she lets go of her own harsh view of herself, finds a new source of strength, and discovers the love, belonging, and acceptance she's yearned for.Despite Gracia's freedom, it doesn't translate to one daughter in particular. Lucia battles the same pain of self-rejection, shame, and unworthiness as her mother once did. Will Gracia revert to control and other "tools" as her daughter shuns her offers to help? Will Lucia stay stuck in the bondage of pain and brokenness, or will she find freedom in the forest to enjoy Being the Beloved?Being the Beloved is an allegorical memoir with the themes of doing away with self-rejection, shame, and unworthiness and living led by love.
