Nueva figuración 1961-1965
Well documented study of the "Nueva Figuración" movement in Argentina during the 1960s. Widespread artistic movement in Europe and Latin America, which addressed an informal figurative and expressionist in reaction to abstract art after the Second World War. The first sign of nonfigurative artists in Argentina took place in 1961 in Peuser Gallery, with works by Ernesto Deira, Rómulo Macció, Luis Felipe Noé and Jorge de la Vega. For four years, they formed a group that gave priority to freedom of expression and of the figure, and served as an inspiration to other artists.
