Mary Alice Camp

Entries were primarily penned at Maplewood, located in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Maplewood was a property that became a school in the 1820s. In 1841, it became known as the Pittsfield Young Ladies Insitute and was later known as the Maplewood Institute. The school closed in 1884 and was converted into a hotel three years later. There are additional entries from various towns in Massachusetts and New York, as well as places including Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
