The perceived limits to producing food for a growing global population have been a source of debate and preoccupation for ages. Both experts and the public have been vigilant when regarding the world food situation and outlook. The global agricultural vision has recently moved from eliminating hunger and poverty to a new focus on food security, nutritional security, climate change and economic opportunity. The overall approach can be classified into four strands: food for peace, food for growth, food for the planet, and food for health. This book discusses global agricultural revolutions and visions both in general and from regional, continental and national perspectives, with a particular focus on the World Trade Organization and markets. It will serve as inspiration for historians, practitioners and policy-makers in the field of global agriculture in determining a roadmap for global leaders in years to come.

Populations in the G5 Sahel countries are growing rapidly. Given these large cohorts of young populations, over the next five years 11.4 million youth will turn 16 years old, and most will then start to seek jobs in the region. Although the countries are urbanizing, meaning that future economic growth may be faster in industry and services than in agriculture, in the short and medium run the bulk of new jobs are likely to be created in the agriculture sector and its supply chains. For the five countries of the G5 Sahel – Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, Mali and Niger – this study aims to address the following questions: i) What employment can be created for youth, as agriculture and the agrifood value chains become environmentally sustainable as part of a rural green transition?; and ii) What policies, programmes and investment are needed to create these jobs and ensure that young women and men can access them?

I have come to realize that church can be the very stage to play out one's inner emotions, talents and abilities. It has now become a place where the synergy of a person's life that was once viewed as a place of healing and restoration is now a place where a person's wounds are turned into spiritual cancer. This is the very essence of why we have so many churches on each corner and no one is coming to be saved. People are being misled, and many of us are at fault. We have gospel musicals, plays, and annual padding pocket days only to realize that it is not God's purpose for His Church. We see some pastors, bishops, overseers, and church goers promoting self as a type of God. Jesus never gave any thought to self-elevation; however, it seems that some modern-day preachers or pastors do not care about God's vision anymore. I have seen the Church go without true ministry so that a pastor can get most or all of the money and no real ministries are carried out. Augustine articulates temporality as focus rather than duration. It encompasses the shift from the future through the present to the past. Yet this a-causal, free-floating concept of time has never been applied to the shape of Augustine’s own narrative in the Confessions, or to that other vintage Augustinian problem: predestination. This book examines Augustinian temporality by experimentally projecting it onto modern(ist) authors (Kleist, Henry James, Kafka, Beckett) who are less dependent on sequential narrative and more concerned with the fragility and sustainability of voice in time. Processed through this mill of unfamiliar readings, the poignant problem of Augustinian time is how focus can account for digression. How can one deal with an unfathomably brief notion of time while eternity’s longueur hovers over it?
