One day, a lion and a mouse were sitting on a fluffy white cloud, feeling quite satisfied with themselves. In between the two they had just consumed three large Hershey's chocolate bars, two icy cold Coke's, a large bag of Fritos corn chips and three ham and cheese sandwiches, their favorite. Feeling sleepy and content they gazed down on the city as they floated by, noticing a particularly large umbrella tree overshadowing a small white cottage below. The very tippety-top of the highest branches could just touch their cloud as they drifted. Below, summer was coming to Maryland and the trees were dropping leaves for the wind to play with, tossing them into the air and blowing piles in great gusts down the city streets.Stretching, the lion could just hear a young girl, giggling into the phone with her friends...

School was out and I needed a job, summer stretched long and boring in front of me with money dwindling down to nothing much. I spent a few weeks happily recovering from school and unpacking from a recent move. Then I spent a few more weeks working on my writing and watching TV. By then I was just plain bored and broke. Ever helpful, my mom found lots of job prospects and e-mailed them to me. I applied and was hired on as "event personnel." Since then, I've been booking jobs as a "sample girl" and let me tell you, I had no idea what I was getting into!
