Beneath Southern Seas
Beneath Southern Seas is a stunning visual portrayal of the world of the Australian submarine Force Element Group, as seen through the eyes of photographer Jon Davison and writer Tom Allibone. The open access granted have culminated in a collection of images and interviews that together offer an intimate look at this unique world. This book is based on forty thought provoking and illuminating interviews with the people who make up this unusual occupation, which include: design and construction of the Collins Class boats, sea trials, training, operations, deployments, the captain and crew, and many more. Through their words we discover just what it is that makes one want to become a submariner.
