John Lansing attended the Constitutional Convention as delegates from New York. His heirs discovered his notes among his papers, they were not published until 1939. They provide a rich new primary source record for scholars of the Convention. Only in Lansing's notes do we find a report of Constitutional questions regarding states' rights.
