I've Been Around the Block a Few Times
It's been quite a journey these past years since I hung out my shingle in 1998. In the early years, I had no idea the twists and turns the road would offer. However, during those years, my resolve to serve the human community in the context of business has been an ever-present partner and it's stronger than ever. I've traveled delivering thousands of workshops and seminars throughout North America on a variety of professional development topics, speaking in every major U.S. city and state. They've taken me from Nova Scotia to Alaska, from Puerto Rico to Hawaii. And, I've had so much fun expanding my services to other areas of the globe. I was one of the first North American Job/Career Coach Contributors for the Daily Telegraph-UK and I've had coaching clients from Costa Rico to the United Arab Emirates. I've been named to multiple lists for a number of years, most recently Top 50 Unstoppable Women in HR and the top 100 Octoleader list. I would have never dreamed to be named to any list let alone a list to which many business influencers I've admired for years appeared, such as Tom Peters, David Edelman or Judy Hsu of ABC News, Chicago. I've been quoted and contributed to major media outlets, invited to be an IBM Influencer representing the Talent Management space, invited to be a LinkedIn Learning subject matter expert and most recently appeared on the Top Global 500 Female HR Speakers list. The duration and unique experiences that have come my way since these past 20 years, have exposed me to a variety of employees and leaders, their conditions and concerns. It's given me a ground floor and c-suite view of a variety of attitudes, philosophies, and practices surrounding how business (profit and non-profit), as well as government entities, run and work with human resources, talent management and development related to operational and organizational success. This scope of experience has shaped a very specific point of view and provided significant insight surrounding how to effectively manage talent to best grow a business that will consistently thrive. The business community has evolved in positive ways and in others, hardly at all. I have to say, it's hard to comprehend I've witnessed and participated in almost 2 generations of business as a young professional and then as a business owner. So since I've been around the block a few times, allow me to save you a few trips...and some money (and headaches) along the way!
