We Are Right Here
Through the decades of unfathomable trauma that grips certain areas of Chicago, many people overlook the theme of suffering that connects most stories of those that have and do reside there. Some are able to escape the insurmountable odds stacked against them, while many others unconsciously maintain the cycle of suffering. An undeniable truth, however, is that most Chicago natives have had their stories misinterpreted, forgotten, or suppressed. In We Are Right Here, Chicago native Jeffrey Williams uses his story, one that fell under the same cycle of suffering, to represent those whose stories have been underappreciated and misused. Through Jeff's life story, educational research, and hopeful outlooks, he explores mentorship and the benefits it can have for disadvantaged youth, the power of self-determination, the truth about justice, and much, much more.
