Wonderama
From 1955-77, Wonderama was probably the most popular children's show on television. From 1967-77, it averaged between 6 and 10 million viewers every Sunday morning. Why? Perhaps because of Bob McAllister, the show's fifth and final host whose amiable personality, patience, and respect of children made him a household name. Not that he was any better than the show's previous hosts, but there was something warm and genuine about Bob that he became our favorite uncle, one who introduced fun and entertaining games, innovative contests, informative segements, catchy songs, celebrity guests, magicians, and musical performances by top bands and solo artists. You could even say that the Wonderama was "The Tonight Show" for kids. Now for the first time, everything you ever wanted to know about Wonderama has been chronicled in this book, featuring 200 never-before-published photographs.
