The collection consists of a photograph album related to Pivnicky's service in the Pacific Theater during WWII. The album consists of personal photographs taken when Pivnicky was a child and when he served in the U.S. Army with the 35th Infantry Regiment, Hawaiian Division, and the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. The photographs were taken in various locations, such as Hawaii (HI), Panama Canal, San Francisco, Mojave Desert, Aleutian Islands, Marshall Islands, Philippines, Saipan, and New Guinea, before and during the war. The photographs cover a variety of topics, such as life in HI, fellow Soldiers, drilling, weapons, the aftermath of fighting in the Pacific Theater, and Pivnicky's home life. The collection also includes two newspaper clippings: a notice that Pivnicky had been seriously wounded in 1944 and his obituary.
