May 1998 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Mass Protest toppled President Suharto's authoritarian regime. All five fictional stories are based on true events: Ahmadiyah, homosexuality, a migrant worker who became the rape victim, religious differences, and the impact of the racial riots of May 1998.
