Images that Inspire
This publications gathers the posters that the Member States of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) used in the effort to eliminate measles and rubella in the Region of the Americas. The posters collected here sketch the visual and iconographic system that was developed to report, persuade, recognize, and motivate the peoples of the Americas to remain true to their commitment to eliminate these two diseases, thus promoting equity. From a historical perspective, these posters offer much more than their original purpose; they are the mirrors that reflect the perceptions, biases, and attitudes of the culture, society, and time when they were created. In them, art, culture, science, religion, and values for health come together.
