Guns of Burgoyne
A historical novel about the events leading to the battle of Saratoga during the American Revolutionary War. It tells the story of the Hessian soldiers brought over from the Hesse-Hanau region of Germany to fight in America alongside the British from the viewpoint of a young German Lieutenant, Kurt Ahrens, and Gustav Rentner, an enlisted man drafted into the service of the Hessian army. It describes General Burgoyne's advance to Lake Champlain from Canada as he marched towards Saratoga.
