The Water People
Brian Griffin has worked on major projects of different kinds, for magazines (Time Out, The Face, The Observer magazine, I-D, GQ, The Times, The Sunday Times, Esquire), fashion houses, in advertising (Audi, Tchibo, MasterCard, Tesco, Coca Cola, Ikea, Fuji Film, BMW), for the music industry (Depeche Mode) and big corporations, in addition to independent works. He has published more than ten books on his photography, taken part in a great number of exhibitions in many countries over the past thirty years: made eight short films and a number of television commercials with related performances and sculptures. His photographs are to be found in many international museums including Britain, Portugal and Germany. The photographs presented in this publication are a visual metaphor of his time at the Reykjavik Energy Centre, Iceland. It describes the surreal tale of discovering fictitious characters known as The Water People. It is a children's book for adults greatly inspired by Jules Verne's novel Journey to the Centre of the Carth. Also incliuded is a CD of Icelandic Folk music.
