Siendo aún un niño, Bernardo Rodríguez inició su participación en las sangrientas guerras civiles que asolaron el territorio colombiano al final del siglo XIX. Combatió ferozmente en tres contiendas, animado por el ideal de ver triunfante la bandera de su glorioso partido liberal. En el campo de batalla de Palonegro, por su heroísmo recibió el ascenso a coronel de manos de su apreciado jefe Rafael Uribe Uribe. Una vez firmados los acuerdos de paz, pasó a engrosar la fila de los vencidos. Sólo 32 años después de haber terminado las hostilidades, durante el primer régimen liberal que siguió a la hegemonía conservadora, se atrevió a publicar las memorias de sus contiendas. Su relato, lleno de detalles geográficos y de nombres de participantes, nos enseña el conmovedor interior de la guerra. Visto a la luz de la historia, no se sabe qué admirar más en la vida del coronel Rodríguez, si su participación en la guerra, o el habernos legado el recuento de sus campañas.

The book covers production, structure, properties and potential applications of nanocellular polymers fabricated by using foaming methods. These materials are porous materials with pore sizes in the nanometer range, processed as bulk or film materials, from a wide set of polymers. Reduction of pore size to the nanoscale drastically modifies important properties such as thermal conductivity, optical properties, mechanical properties and specific surface area among others providing improved properties and promising applications for these materials in automotive, aeronautic, renewable energies, construction, filtration or thermal insulation.

Este congreso internacional se centra en avances dentro del campo de la Matemática discreta, incluyendo, de manera no exhaustiva: · Algoritmos y Complejidad · Combinatoria · Teoría de Códigos · Criptografía · Geometría Discreta y Computacional · Optimización Discreta · Teoría de Grafos · Problemas de localización discreta y temas relacionados Las ediciones anteriores de este evento se celebraros en Sevilla (2018) y Barcelona (2016), estos congresos heredan la tradición de las Jornadas de Matemática Discreta y Algorítmica (JMDA), el encuentro bienal en España en Matemática Discreta (desde 1998). Durante la celebración del congreso tendrán lugar cuatro conferencias plenarias, cuarenta y dos presentaciones orales y una sesión de once pósteres. Abstract The Discrete Mathematics Days (DMD20/22) will be held on July 4-6, 2022, at Facultad de Ciencias of the Universidad de Cantabria (Santander, Spain). The main focus of this international conference is on current topics in Discrete Mathematics, including (but not limited to): Algorithms and Complexity Combinatorics Coding Theory Cryptography Discrete and Computational Geometry Discrete Optimization Graph Theory Location and Related Problems The previous editions were held in Sevilla in 2018 and in Barcelona in 2016, inheriting the tradition of the Jornadas de Matemática Discreta y Algorítmica (JMDA), the Spanish biennial meeting (since 1998) on Discrete Mathematics. The program consists on four plenary talks, 42 contributed talks and a poster session with 11 contributions.
