A new work by Barby Asante, commissioned as part of the Collaborations Programme at Studio Voltaire. Using karaoke as a starting point, the project was developed through a series of collaborative workshops, interviews, sing-a-longs and social events. Aside from documenting the project, this publication is intended to exist as a functioning artwork, allowing others to share songs and memories at their own karaoke event.

A collection of individual views of the city at a time of dynamic change. Taken in 2012-2013, the photographs are intended to represent contemporary perspectives to viewers in the future. It is a practical response to key questions for visual culture: can thinking and talking about images make us better at understanding other people's perspectives? Can creating images enable us to understand the world better, as well as our current place within it?
