Wall Street Bulloetica
Wall Street Bulloetica
"Wall Street Bulloetica" is a poetry book that illuminates the history of the famous Wall Street Bull statue, located in the financial district of New York City. The statue, a creation of sculptor Arturo Di Modica, was initially erected one night in secrecy in 1989. The speaker explains that at first, the city officials forced its removal. With the help of prestigious businessmen and high officials, a new home was found for the bull, and the statue was restored. Although on a temporary permit, the people of New York could not bear its removal and so it has remained, although not without controversy. From its mysterious initial placement, the efforts to get it restored in a new location, and most recently the objection to the placement of the "Fearless Girl" statue in front of the bull, Di Modica has consistently fought for his statue. Two protest movements have used it as their symbol, one of which being the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. According to the speaker, the statue has also become famous in the United States and abroad, making it a popular sight for tourists. In addition to this worldwide attention, Americans also share affection for the statue, rubbing it for good luck, taking pictures, or just gazing at it in awe. The Wall Street Bull has become a fixed symbol of resiliency and revival after financial difficulties, reminding all that there is hope.

Golden Gate Quoteography
Golden Gate Quoteography
Golden Gate Quoteography - 33 Captivating quotes about the magnificent bridge is a book that is one of its kind. When you read these quotes you will feel that this bridge is a living phenomenon. These quotes are poetically so rich and unique that it will make you visualize the bridge even without being on it, the princely diadem on the head of America. These quotes are from the poem - "Ah! The Golden Gate Bridge!" added at the end of the book. It tells the story of how the bridge connects so many hearts and souls across the whole world, how it is a lovely example of poetry and engineering rejoicing in its full beauty. The author goes deep down into what the bridge actually is, for the ordinary man, for the architect and for a poet. Each stanza of "Ah! The Golden Gate Bridge!" is poetically built from statements about the bridge, including metaphor to convey emotional responses upon viewing it, physical descriptions of the bridge itself, and interesting facts from the bridge's history. Each stanza is a stand-alone statement that is then connected to the others by the repetition of the title as a refrain. The poem opens with a statement of connection, not only land & building to the other side but also connection between humanity. The speaker then describes a sorrowful usage of the bridge, that of death, in the next stanza. In the stanza that follows, the speaker gives the first tidbit from the story of the making of the bridge, referring to the skills of its builder. In the eighteenth stanza, the builder is mentioned by name, Joseph B. Strauss, the man who worked hard to ensure that his dream was built. Additional stanzas give more pieces of this story, including describing the tension and conflict over the decision to build it, Strauss's inspiration for designing this bridge, and a metaphor of his guidance during construction, comparing the process to a wise doctor guiding a difficult birth. In addition to these pieces of historical fact, there are several stanzas that describe the physical structure. The bridge is compared to an orange straw, two orange pens, and a pair of upraised orange hands, each stanza reminding the reader of the bridge's distinctive color. The author also states that it is a single suspension bridge, describes it as wearing a jacket of fog but unhooded (giving a picture of its height), and feet cemented in water. A unique metaphor compares the bridge to a giant with legs tall enough for ships to cross under, a strong chest, and a heart full of music. As a final thread in this poem, the speaker includes several stanzas about the emotional impact it has. It is a bridge that helps bring about ecstasy and get rid of burdens, a bridge that causes wonder and surprise, and a bridge that takes away one's breath upon seeing or crossing over it. The poem closes with a stanza that states this bridge is a victory of what is possible over what is impossible. It is a statement that reminds the reader dreams can be fought for, and achieved. And if a physical reminder is needed, one only has to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, remember the story, and hope.

Golden Gate Bridgoetica
Golden Gate Bridgoetica
The "Golden Gate Bridgoetica" is a long poem-book that sings in praise of not only this magnificent bridge, but its creator, Joseph B. Strauss. The author, Ashkum Ashwick begins by illuminating Strauss's unique history, leading up to the beginning of his greatest bridge project. With creative parents, a musical mother and painting father, it is no surprise that Strauss also followed a creative path, writing poetry for most of his life. In addition to the creative, Strauss also had an engineering mind, designing and building four hundred bridges in his career, the greatest being the Golden Gate Bridge. This project was one that he fought for from the beginning, pushing through all that tried to oppose it. The speaker states "the battle started by poet engineer/ was vigorously won and never lost." Construction began on January 5, 1933. In the stanzas that follow, the speaker details the construction process, from the hindrances of weather, lead poisoning endured by the workers, and the sheer dangers of their positions as the work continued. These dangers sadly resulted in twelve accidental deaths, prompting Strauss to purchase and install an expensive safety net beneath the bridge, saving nineteen lives, '"Halfway to hell club' those saved were called, / Otherwise to death, they must have met.' After taking the reader through the construction process, concluding at a final cost of thirty-five million dollars, the speaker describes the bright festivities of the bridge's opening day: boy and girl scouts at each entrance of the bridge, fireworks, song, and souvenirs. This bridge quickly became one of America's greatest wonders. Sadly, its reputation has not remained without blemish. The speaker somberly relates that "Golden Gate Bridge has its downside too/ As people use it, for suicide to commit", and advises if there are any signs of suicide on the bridge to please call and get help. "The speaker brings the poem to a close by relating a series of fascinating facts about the bridge such as an increase in the toll amount, the staggering number of rivets used in its construction, and the US Navy's objection to its color, 'International Orange', citing a safety hazard in fog for their ships. The last stanza details the eventual installation of a statue of Strauss, a process that much like the process to build his bridge, was at first met with opposition, was championed by one person, and finally completed, a fitting connection between creator and creation.

That push is found here in this book, to go on, to move on and to proceed. This book illuminates and prepares different lessons that we stand in need of from time to time. It depicts how family and friends are far more important than modern day technology and how they are the ones that deserve more of your time rather than these technological distractions that take up most of our time and we don't even realize. This book also explains the concept "behind every great man is a woman," how much respect a woman deserves. The benefit of a woman's support can never be overemphasized and she is the reason why the man can actually reach his goals and set his standards high. She's the one who sets the seeds for the big plant that slowly and gradually cultivates; she sets the foundation, builds the empire, and manages it all at once and yet keeps the family together. It teaches how to get the best out of something in a positive way rather than the negative. Poems like these engender the motivation and galvanize us to at least make an effort and try to do something rather than not trying at all. It persuades us that hard work never ever goes to waste. Many poems in this book tell us mistakes should never ever be regretted. Mistakes may cause a temporary harm, but in the long, run they are always beneficial and leave behind lessons that lead us to correct ourselves, at the same time motivates us to not make those same mistakes again. Rather learn from them, and make sure we do even better next time. We should never be too harsh on ourselves because, after every bad day, comes another day, another day to improve ourselves, another day to work harder, another day to challenge ourselves. One should seize the day and live it like it's the last day. We need to reason with ourselves and with others so we can stimulate a positive energy that both parties can benefit from. The good times don't stay neither do the bad. There's always a rainbow shining through and the end of a storm. Embracing the problems is key! Running from problems has never solved any, and the problems stayed till they wanted to. We need to mobilize ourselves that way and one can always refer to the poems from time to time to gain that extra energy and spark to boost and ignite the fire inside us to put out the positivity out there in the world for everyone to experience. It's really ironic how poetry plays such a vital role in our daily lives and yet we take it for granted. We should really be thankful for the amazing source of inspiration and motivation poetically engineered in this "SUCCESS THROUGH POETRY" book for all.

Covid Poetry - Doctor's Dilemma, Poetry as a Narrative Medicine
Covid Poetry - Doctor's Dilemma, Poetry as a Narrative Medicine
So the annals of history recorded: "A great scourge befell on humanity, stunning it into silence, freezing its random motions, emptying its busy thoroughfares, its bazaars, its temples, sucking our vital life from its souls." Playgrounds where children once frolicked in mirth now resemble Roman ruins. Megalopolises where people recently bustled with people now lay bare. Eyes that ought to have joy became ridden with anxiety. Man got cut off from Man, nay, even became the enemy of Man, besotted with a germ that poisoned the air that we inhaled. Every breath became deliberate, laborious, and laden with caution, for it could be one of the last. The "spirit" in "respiration" barely blew life into soulless bodies. Human touch became a rarity, vigorous handshakes, bear hugs, back pats, a thing of the past. Devoid of life-enabling touch, social man-animals roamed like solitary cats. Was it the will of gods, or just a curse brought upon Man by Man? This is the dilemma that confronts us-weakening human resolve, punishing our feeble minds with self-doubt. "Such was the 20th year of the 21st century." Until hope sprang from the graveyard in the form of a golden dandelion, defiant n its will to flower through the cracks in the concrete slab. Its bloodied but radiant head spread joy through its seeds. Led by brave men in scrubs, who knew the tactics of the unseen enemy and united the isolated stock of citizens into the battlefield of life, saving humanity from this scourge. We owe everything to the medical scientists, the emergency room physicians, our primary caregivers, the nurses, the paramedics, for keeping its lethality to the minimum. For giving us hope. These lyrical COVID odes by Ashkum Ashwick, to the medical community, is a timely tribute. Our gratitude to them is immeasurable; only such noble words of praise can attempt to be our repayment. As writers, poets, authors, and scribes, words are all that we can offer, even as we know that our words will fall short in our homage to these brave souls that lead us from the front. To them, we owe our lives in this blight. To them, our debt is lifelong. To them, we say, "Thank you, thank you!" Jay Sokhi (Riverside, California)

Golden Gate Visitournal
Golden Gate Visitournal
Ever wanted all your adventures locked in one place? Jump on the bandwagon of your wanderlust and record everything in your personal travel diary, to be passed it down to the next generation so they could enjoy reading where their parents and grandparents wandered. Let's make it easier for you, and here are the whole nine yards of how to go about it as far as visiting Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California is concerned. So, what is personal Travel Journal? A personal travel journal is a significant reminiscence of all your adventures, saga, records, fairy- tales, stories, memories and discoveries that you may experience throughout your travels. This personal travel journal is your own personal space that's solely owned by you, it's entirely up to you to pick and choose what you want to compose, draft and all you decide to add to it. A few years later, you'd want to recall the memories you made, and you'd have it all safe and sound in your personal journal. It doesn't have to be a very luxurious journal, it could just be a notebook, the exterior appearance doesn't matter, but the interior content is what matters. But a significant point to be noted is that it should be sturdy enough to hold up and now shatter into pieces. It's preferred that the bottom is flat so it's easy to write on whenever, wherever. Rest the colors and decorations are dependent on your decision. It needs to be to the point so that it remains interesting even for you. Long paragraphs, excessive details, and lengthy essays will make it slightly boring. You can create an index, or small sticky notes and label the city or county so if you ever want to show someone else or even re-read yourself, it won't take you hours to figure out where what lies. The index is a very handy tool. So how would you begin? What would you start with? First and foremost, most importantly the "itinerary". Let's define itinerary: itinerary is your entire route/plan penned down. This includes entirely all the details of the places you visit, you could also add people along with photos to make it a more substantial memory. Make lists, to-do lists, bucket lists, people to see, things to do etc. etc. As you go along your journey, mark your favorite bits, for e.g., the best food you had, or the most beautiful place you went to, the scenes that were breath-taking, people you met and so on. Along with this, try scrapping everything. Tickets, receipts, anything you found in the country's local language, any particular food or drinks you had (the labels), you can staple or stick them and have an evident memory for you to look at. You can even illustrate your content to make it even more amusing and entertaining. You do not need to necessarily have the talent of drawing, a good camera would do, or even your phone camera. You can google up settings and end up with fantastic pictures. One of the paramount rules, is to make sure your journal isn't monotonous. The details should be just enough that cover the highlights, if you go in depth with what all you did, it will become tedious and too lengthy. It's your travel journal that you'd want to cherish and preserve, so don't make it banausic. It needs to be full of life and intriguing. Everything doesn't need to be listed, you can leave out lots as there would be lots you'd put in. The contents don't need to be in proper order or very well composed, it should be full of your passion and joy that you explore as you go although pages have been inserted for most of your traveling thoughts and likely experiences. The ball is in your court, the Golden Gate VISITOURNAL is your personal diary, do as you please and make most of it to let your memories of the marvel persist!
