The Effects of Technology on K-5 Teacher's Pedagogy and Assessment in a Suburban School District
This study examines the impact of technology tools and devices on teaching instruction and assessment, at the elementary level. Technology has increasingly become an integral part of elementary instruction and assessment. This technology model was designed to provide a better understanding of the use and impact of technology on teaching in elementary classrooms. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between technology tools and devices and how elementary teachers are being impacted. This research study includes feedback from elementary teachers in one suburban school district in Pennsylvania. This school district contains four elementary buildings from which the participants were selected from. The research instrument for this quantitative study included an online survey that was delivered to participants through an email from the school district. The data analyzed in this study provided insight regarding the impacts of technology tools and devices on the teachers planning, instruction and assessments. This study has shown that teachers have found many instructional shifts and some assessment shifts with the implementation of technology. Teachers also reported an increased use of technology within their instruction and assessments.
