The book consists of three parts. The first deals with different types of trips and companies, including mini cruises, themed itineraries, crossings, and river cruises. The second part of the book is dedicated to around-the-world itineraries, with objective criteria to make it easier to choose between different ships and itineraries, the necessary arrangements before and during the trip, the routine on board, details of the destinations visited by the author, as well as curiosities about this experience. The third part of the book is dedicated to the cruise industry in international academia, identifying the most studied and researched topics associated with the cruise industry, as well as the participation of different countries and geographical regions in the production of this knowledge, in addition to a chapter with the experience of the research group on sea and river cruises coordinated by PUC Rio.

Ana Paula Höfling contextualizes the emergence of the two main styles of capoeira, angola and regional, within discourses of race and nation in mid-twentieth century Brazil. This history of capoeira's corporeality, on the page and on the stage, includes analysis of illustrated capoeira manuals and reveals the mutual influences between capoeira practitioners, tourism bureaucrats, intellectuals, artists, and directors of folkloric ensembles. Staging Brazil sheds light on the importance of capoeira in folkloric shows in the 1960s and 70s—both those that catered to tourists visiting Brazil and those that toured abroad and introduced capoeira to the world.

Before the Portuguese Royal Court moved to its South-American colony in 1808, books and periodicals had a very limited circulation there. It was only when Brazilian ports were opened to foreign trade that the book trade began to flourish, and printed matter became more easily available to readers, whether for pleasure, for instruction or for political reasons. This book brings together a collection of original articles on the transnational relations between Brazil and Europe, especially England and France, in the domain of literature and print culture from its early stages to the end of the 1920s. It covers the time when it was forbidden to print in Brazil, and Portugal strictly controlled which books were sent to the colony, through the quick flourishing of a transnational printing industry and book market after 1822, to the shift of hegemony in the printing business from foreign to Brazilian hands at the beginning of the twentieth century.
