Giuseppe Penone
In his summer 2011 Haunch of Venison show, Giuseppe Penone exhibited new and recent works in wood and bronze as well as documentation relating to a series of ground-breaking projects made in 1968 and an installation of his extraordinary Skin of Graphite drawings.Penone's work is concerned with perception, sculpture, and our relationship with nature. He is best known for his work using trees although he also uses bronze, clay and stone and uses traditional techniques such as casting or carving.This is the largest exhibition of the Italian artist's work to date in London.Published on the occasion of the exhibition at Haunch of Venison, London, 27 May – 20 August 2011.
