The competencies for One Health field epidemiology (COHFE) framework includes fourteen domains that cover technical and functional knowledge, skills, and competencies needed by One Health field epidemiologists working at all administrative levels, including district, regional, and national/international levels. The purpose of this Guide is to present in a systematic manner information on the procedures and requirements concerning the deposit of microorganisms and to give practical advice to persons depositing microorganisms for patent purposes, on the one hand, and to anyone wishing to obtain samples of such microorganisms, on the other hand.

The Joint External Evaluation (JEE) team would like to express its appreciation to the United States of America for volunteering to undertake a second JEE using the third edition of the JEE tool. This revised edition of the tool incorporates relevant lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies. The JEE team sincerely appreciates the United States’ efforts to meet the requirements of the JEE process, and the warm hospitality that was offered to the JEE team. All countries that make the effort to undergo the JEE process should be commended for the transparency they have shown in service of strengthening global health security.

Investing to promote agricultural growth and poverty reduction is a central pillar of the World Bank's current rural strategy, 'Reaching the Rural Poor' (2003). This 'Sourcebook' addresses how to implement the rural strategy, by sharing information on investment options and identifying innovative approaches that will aid the design of future lending programs for agriculture. The 'Sourcebook' draws on a wide range of experiences from donor agencies, governments, institutions, and other groups active in agricultural development. It is an invaluable reference tool for policy makers, professionals, academics and students, and anyone with an interest in agricultural investments.

This report presents the recommendations of a WHO Expert Committee commissioned to coordinate activities leading to the adoption of international recommendations to assure the quality safety and efficacy of vaccines blood products and other biological medicines and the establishment of international biological reference standards for these products and related diagnostic devices. The report of particular relevance to manufacturers and national regulatory authorities starts with a discussion of general issues brought to the Committee's attention. The second part of the report contains written specifications that establish international regulatory expectations for the following products; DNA vaccines pertussis (whole cell) vaccine plasma (human) for fractionation rabies vaccine and rotavirus vaccine. The report also provides a risk assessment and defines conditions for the safe production of pandemic strain influenza vaccines. The third part of the report provides information on the status and development of international reference materials for various antibodies antigens blood products and related substances and in vitro diagnostic devices.

This publication addresses the high importance fast and sincere reporting plays for a global problem such as Avian and Human Influenza (AHI). The issue was identified during the first international simulation exercise in Paris in March 2007 as an area of concern for the travel and tourism industry which required further investigation. The publication includes an initial report evaluating the theoretical possibilities of penalties and incentives to improve fast and sincere reporting, the International Health Regulations of the World Health Organization are outlined and country studies report on the individual experiences made over the course of the current AHI threat.
