Eileen Sorensen Carlston was born in Murray, Utah November 30, 1947, the third of seven children of Leon Christian and Thelma Leon Bright Sorensen. She grew up in the middle part of the Salt Lake Valley surrounded by farms and played with the neighborhood kids who were all her cousins.

Eileen Gray (1878-1976) is regarded as one of the most important furniture designers and architects of the early 20th century and the most influential woman in those fields. This book looks at her life and work.
