Aeolian-Skinner Remembered
The book tells of the four decades of the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Co. of Boston, from the departure of Ernest M. Skinner from the firm in the 1930s to its demise in the 1970s. The life and legacy of G. Donald Harrison, the ascendancy of Joseph Whiteford, his departure from the firm, later changes in mechanisms, design and company personnel are interwoven in the story, which is augmented by reminiscences by surviving Aeolian-Skinner officers and staff. In compiling this work, it has been the present writer's desire to allow those who took part in these events to tell the tale from their own unique perspective via the medium of written correspondence.
