Hope is a Thing with Feathers
Thirty-year-old Sidney Green Stone has just found out that her childhood love Jonathan Knight is missing and presumed dead. She has married a man she is not sure she loves, ignores a drunken father that she can't deal with, refuses to mention a mother that committed suicide, and dismisses a sister and a lifelong friend, all to escape her childhood spent in a small southern town that she feels has brought her nothing but misery. Sidney is starting to question her marriage, her family, and ultimately herself, apparently just as her deceased mother Hope did at the same age, right before she committed suicide on her thirtieth birthday. On some level between heaven and earth, Jonathan is sent by Sidney's mother to communicate with Sidney through her dreams, in an attempt to help Sidney rediscover who she is, and learn how to love herself, her family, and her life. This is a story about listening to your dreams, and learning from them how to forgive, hope, and love again.
