Inspired by a sense of urgency about a rise in the rates of mental and emotional problems among U.S. children and teenagers and a need to make known the crucial importance of early intervention, a varied group of professionals authored and edited this four-volume reference set, which comprises the initial offering in the publisher's series, Child Psychology and Mental Health. Contributors are psychologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, educators, and social workers, whose work is brought together under the leadership of three series editors--Hiram Fitzgerald, Robert Zucker, and Kristine Freeark--all of whom are affiliated with the U. of Michigan. Each volume, separately edited and indexed, focuses on a theme: childhood disorders (v.1); disorders in adolescence (v.2); issues for families, schools, and communities (v.3); and early intervention programs and policies (v.4). Each volume contains between 10 and 15 essays reviewing what is known and what must be done. For policymakers and professionals of all stripes whose work involves children.

Electrodynamics involves the study of electric charges and their interaction with magnetic and electric fields. This advanced undergraduate text presupposes some knowledge of electricity and magnetism, making substantial use of vector analysis. The authors define their goal as "a serious attempt to develop electrodynamics on a postulational basis and to define each concept in the most general way." 1960 edition.
