This collection contains records of furniture sales and general store accounts recording sales of goods such as medicines, books, paper, toys, thread, silk and cotton cloth, cups, alcohol and groceries among other things. All three volumes were kept during the family's time in New Vinyard, Maine and recorded by various members of the Stewart family.

Correspondence and speeches on acoustics, student motivation, the University of Iowa Department of Physics, and travel to Europe and Asia. Also includes a manuscript volume and scrapbook on Stewart's father, a Methodist clergyman in Missouri. Correspondents include Harold C. Urey.
