This is a review of what is known about the distribution of reptiles in northern New Jersey - north and west of the Coastal Plain Physiographic Province. In the review, the author briefly examines the faunal list and then proceeds to problems of particular interest, including a rather speculative look at our northern herpetofauna from a historical or developmental point of view.
