Sue's Journey
As I am writing to you, I am thirty-five years old. As you read my story about me being abused, I was only seven or eight at the time. Even though I denied my abuse to Investigators, the hurt and the damage was already done. It took me this long to tell my story. I wasn't just abused by my Grandfather, but by my mother to. I came in from school one evening, and Lucy and her boyfriend was in Lucy's bedroom. My mother grabbed me by the hair of the head and literally beat me. I thought she was going to kill. All because I wouldn't go to a stranger's house and get her a cigarette. During this time, Lucy, my mother, and I lived in some apartments in Bassett, VA. I was only in the seventh grade. My sister and her boyfriend knew momma was beating me. Lucy's boyfriend was wanting to come in the living room and stop my mother, but Lucy wouldn't let him. I never could understand why Lucy rather for my mother to beat me. This wasn't the first time my mother abused me.I am writing a part two, to this book and the title of it will be "Sue's Journey, Trying To Survive". It will cover the details about the other abuse that I got. Please help anyone to get out of any abusive relationship or home. Only one voice can make a difference, and that voice can be yours! -Sue Vernon
