Marie Remington Wing Family Papers
Consists of diaries, correspondence, newspaper clippings, miscellaneous memorabilia, financial and legal papers, and records of Marie Wing and her family, and those of the organizations they served. Included are the diaries of Wing's grandfather, Stephen Remington, who served in the Civil War as a private in the 19th Battery, Ohio Light Artillery. Of interest are the genealogical notes of Wing's uncle, George C. Wing, and the many school essays of her mother, Mary B. Remington Wing, who attended the Cleveland Academy in the 1870s. The life of Wing's sister Virginia Remington Wing, particularly her extensive correspondence with prominent Clevelanders Roger and Edna Brush Perkins, is well-documented. Correspondence, Vassar College materials, and business records of Wing's companion, Dorothy Smith, are included.
