General description of the collection: The James E. Jean, Jr. papers include a completed Korean War Veterans Survey questionnaire describing his service in the 7th Signal Company of the 7th Infantry Division. Overall he had no complaints about being in the United States (US) Army. He mentioned several times how cold and wet the winters were in Korea. Jean also mentions the mud getting as deep as 14 inches. He mentions he arrived home with just three dollars in his pocket and that his military education and skills were of no use outside of the war except for obtaining security clearance. In his remarks, he noted that he was happy someone wanted to know his viewpoints or opinions.
