Hugh Miller Thompson Papers
There are six items of correspondence between Thompson and Bishop William Rollinson Whittingham of Maryland. These chiefly concern affairs of Nashotah House (theological seminary), Nashotah, Wis.; Thompson's professorship of ecclesiastical history there; family matters; and an appeal for aid to sufferers from the Chicago fire, 1871. Letters by other correspondents, including the Reverend William Adams of Nashotah, describe his character, writings, and activities. All papers date before his election as Bishop in 1883.
