The Reverend John Graham of Woodbury, Connecticut, and His Descendants
Chiefly descendants of Reverend John Graham of Woodbury, Connecticut. "John Graham, son of Andrew of the Grahams of Kincardine and Montrose, born at Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, September 20, 1690. Graduated University of Glasgow, March 10, 1714. Studied Medicine and Theology at Edinburgh. Emigrated from the valley of the Bann between County Antrim and Londonderry, arrived in Boston Aug. 4, 1718"--Page 4. John became a member of the Congregational Church, having been a Presbyterian prior to his coming to America. In Kingston, New Hampshire John met Love Sanborne and they were married on 8 January 1719/20. She was the daughter of Captain Jonathan Sanborne and Elizabeth Sherburn Sanborne of Kingston. In 1722 John and Love settled in Stafford, Connecticut where Love died 1 March 1725/26 while giving birth to stillborn twins. After Love's death, John married Abigail Chauncey of Hadley, Massachusetts on 12 September 1726. She was the daughter of Rev. Isaac and Sarah Blackleech Chauncey. Abigail died "about 1784 in Southbury, Connecticut"--Page 20. John Graham died 11 December 1774 and was buried in the White Oak Cemetery as was his wife Abigail.
