Presents forecasts of employment trends in Ireland for the period 1991 to 1998. Examines trends in 14 major occupational groups and in the female share of employment in each group. Identifies the major influences underlying employment change during the period. Includes some employment data for 1971 and 1981 and economic background data for 1994 to 2000.

Develops a system which can be used to provide information on the changing pattern of occupations and to identify possible variations in skill requirements across broad occupational areas of the economy.
