The papers consist primarily of materials from Means' career as a dramatic reader, both on the chautauqua circuit and as a professional speaker managing her own professional service. Included are diaries describing her travels and performances for the Redpath Lyceum Bureau from 1922 to 1936; scrapbooks from 1912 to 1945 containing publicity materials, letters of commendation from chautauqua agents and sponsors of her speaking engagements, and newspaper clippings containing reviews of her performances; undated photographic scrapbooks of her chautauqua activities and associates; and professional portraits of Means taken at various stages of her career. Also included are two catalogs from 1978 and 1986 listing the dramatic readings available from the Edna Means Dramatic Service.

The author relates experiences in her childhood days in the town of Cleveland, Mississippi, and summer vacations in Missouri. Included are color illustrations done by the author.

The Edna Blodgett, Frederick C. Vicinus and Charles J. Reinhardt Papers include 128 letters dated between 1917 and 1920. 108 of the letters are from Edna Blodgett to Sargent Frederick Vicinus, 8 of the letters are from Corporal Reinhardt to Blodgett, and 12 letters are from various friends and family members of Vicinus. The letters exchanged between Blodgett, Vicinus, and Reinhardt show the development of a wartime love triangle. Also included in the collection are three small photographs of Blodgett and Vicinus's military census card. Box two contains eleven issues of the Camp Dix Times and the first five issues of Camp Dix Pictorial Review.
