Diary of Charles Edward Griffiths
The diary of state and federal politician Charles Edward Griffiths (1903-1982), records his observations as a member of the Australian Labor Party delegation to the People's Republic of China in 1957, prior to the Cultural Revolution and at a time before Australia established diplomatic relations with China. The diary includes descriptions of domestic life, industrial facilities, statistical data, meetings with officials and the opening of Parliament in the Great Hall by the Zhou Enlai.
