Henry Pratt, Sr. was born before 1765, probably in Virginia. He and his wife appear to be the parents of nine children, born in Virginia. The family were living in Washington County, Virginia, in 1810, and he was living in Greene County, Tennessee, by 1819. Descendants listed, chiefly descendants of his son, Oliver Pratt (ca. 1784-1832), lived in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and elsewhere.

Guy White, 1st, arrived in Maryland in 1648 as an indentured servant and died ca. 1676 in Calvert County. Guy was reportedly married to Sarah Wright.

Francois Morin (John Francis Morong) was baptized at St-Francois-du-Sud, near Montmagny, Province of Quebec, on 10 Feb. 1742. He was the son of Jacques Morin and Therese Quemleur-Laflamme. He died 1829 at Lubec, Washington Co., Me. He married 1761 Rosalie Forest (b. ca. 1744). She was born in Acadia, probably Beaubassin, the daughter of Francois Forest and Marie-Josephte Girouard. They were parents of eleven children. Family migrated southwesterly along the New Brunswick coast, settling finally in Trescott and Lubec, Washington Co., Maine. ORIGIN OF THE NAME BARTHOLOMEW. Bartholomew is the English form of the Syriac name of the apostle Bartholmai, which is derived from Bar, the Syriac term, as Ben is the Hebrew, for son; see Psalms ii, 12, translated "Kim the Son;" and Tholmai or Talmai (the same in Hebrew) is often found in the Old Testament, see Numbers xiii, 22; Joshua xv, 14; 2 Samuel iii, 3 and Chronicles xiii, 37, as Talmai. Its signification is "furrowed" from a Hebrew root meaning "to furrow" or "cut." The process by which Bartholmai or Bartalmai in Hebrew becomes Bartholomew in English, is through the regular Greek and Latin forms Bartholonmeos and Bartholommus, the second o being an intercalation, thence possibly through the French. The Latin ae being treated as a simple ē, as in all the other Romance languages.
