Joseph C. Ray emigrated from Ireland and settled ca. 1790. He married Margaret McComb. They had ten children. He died in 1829 on his farm in Washington County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Nebraska, and elswhere.
